MISSION
- To develop and present to a broad range of audience groups vibrant and innovative productions of small-scale opera and music theatre works, from the Baroque era to the present, with a special emphasis on neglected repertoire and new works.
AIMS
- Contribute to and broaden the cultural experiences of the community by providing regional and regular access to a specific music-based artform (opera and music theatre)
- Present innovative productions and events delivered to a high artistic standard by professional artists.
- Provide performers and audiences with opportunities to experience the artform through productions of new works and rarely presented repertoire, encompassing diverse music styles and traditions.
- Provide a dynamic and rewarding professional environment in which artists can extend their skills and explore their artform and that of others.
- Provide developmental performance opportunities for young and emerging arts professionals and students.
- Develop programs that will attract new and varied audiences to the artform and provide educational opportunities for the community.
- Collaborate with other groups and individuals in the community to foster new work, and to create innovative and resourceful artistic partnerships.
- Build sustainability by responsible programming, planning and resourcing of projects of a viable scale.
