Eleanor Greenwood made her professional operatic debut in 2005 as Mrs Fairfax in Stopera’s Australian premiere of Jane Eyre, the chamber opera by Michael Berkley and David Malouf. In opera productions for the ANU School of Music Vocal Department, Eleanor has sung the title role in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortileges, Prince Orlofsky in Fledermaus, La Ciesca in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Praskovia in Lehar’s Merry Widow. Eleanor also performed as part of the ensemble in the ANU School of Music production of Puccini’s Sour Angelica and Canberra Philharmonic productions of Les Misèrables and My Fair Lady.

Solo concert performances include Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, JS Bach’s Mass in B Minor, Benjamin Britten’s Te Deum, and Mozart’s Solemn Vespers and Thamos, King of Egypt. Most recently Eleanor sang the mezzo solo in An Age of Kings, a work written for brass band and choir by Edward Gregson of RNCM. In Canberra Eleanor has appeared as soloist at Government House and at various embassies for the Friends of Opera, at the Hyatt Hotel for the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and recently, at Duntroon for the 2005 Beat the Retreat Parade with the RMC Band.
