A concert of music inspired by the vibrant Gypsy way of life and love, with passionate music for voice and violin, and excerpts from favourite operas and operettas. The program features Brahm’s Hungarian Dance, Dvorak’s Gypsy Songs including the popular “Songs my mother taught me”, and music from the greatest of all Gypsy operas, Bizet’s Carmen. Featuring artists from Stopera, the ACT’s award-winning opera company: singers Rebecca Collins and Christina Wilson, violinist Katherine Owen, and pianist Vivienne Winther.
