And the singing is easy, in this luscious concert of summer-inspired song performed by artists from Stopera, the ACT’s award-winning opera company. The program features beautiful music infused with the sunny days and long lush evenings of summer, including Nuits d’été by Berlioz, Canteloube’s Songs of the Auvergne, the theme from the movie The Summer of 42, and of course Gershwin’s Summertime. With three of Canberra’s finest female singers in the line-up, the program also features some of opera’s all time top 100 hits, like the famous Flower Duet from Lakmé by Delibes and the Barcarolle by Offenbach. Enjoy coffee and cake with a view of the Lake, and join Stopera artists sopranos Rebecca Collins and Rachael Duncan, mezzo soprano Christina Wilson and pianist Vivienne Winther for a very special summertime concert.
